Before & after: the forest-in-the-mist living room
This is the first story on the Second Take Interiors blog and one of our favourites: the makeover of a room that, at the start, was far from inviting. Old wallpaper, renovation leftovers and zero character.

The starting point
The room was bright thanks to a large window, but everything else worked against it. The interior needed old coverings removed, walls and floor sorted out, and an idea that would give it a mood.
The idea: the calm of a misty forest
Instead of plain neutral walls we chose a wall mural of a forest in mist. It adds depth, visually enlarges a small room and calms it down. Add a deep green sofa, the warm wood of the table and shelves, and a soft linen-coloured curtain.

Light and details
The double ring pendant gives soft, diffused light and doubles as a graphic accent. Made-to-measure shelves turn a corner into a place for books and keepsakes, and the plants complete the picture.
What this means for your home
One bold decision (here: a mural wall) and a coherent colour palette can change a room more than an expensive renovation. Want a similar change in your home? Get in touch.
